For those who say it can't be done

I just renewed my membership with ARBA today. For those of you who don't know what ARBA is, it is a non-profit rabbit club. Guess what I used? PayPal! And guess whose name is on my receipt?

Seller Information
Seller NameAmerican Rabbit Breeders Association, Inc.
Seller Status
Verified Business Member (2666)

Any more questions? Geez!

For your information, Janet, ARBA is Incorporated, therefore, it is considered AN INDIVIDUAL to IRS or any body else. NARBC is NOT INCorporated - it is just a non-profit organization, therefore it is not considered AN INDIVIDUAL by anybody - PayPal or anyone else.

However, that does not preclude it from having a business account with PayPal.

I am not 100 percent sure about the paypal rules by any means, but I truly believe that because NARBC is not incorporated or doesnt have any type of business license, we cant hold an individual account. Simply put paypay would have no one to hold accountable if anytype of action would need to be taken against us. I cannot imagine a company with paypal's status leaving that big of a loop hole open.

Am I in favor of NARBC looking into becoming incorporated, you betcha! For the same reasons you have been giving, it would allow us to do business in our own name and not that of individuals.

It would also give us additional liability protection.

According to PayPal, we certainly can have a business account - with or without incorporation. The term "business account" is a descriptive, not a limiting term. Anyone can have one, but yes, an individual must take responsibility for it. Jacque has finally admitted that she does not wish to give them personal information so that she can do so. Great! At least we have the truth of the matter, instead of stories which imply that to do so would be illegal, immoral, or unethical.

Too bad this information is only available to those who read this blog. Anyone reading the newsletter is going to think the previous administration is either wrong or lying. And that makes me mad.

The truly amazing part of this to me is that here is an individual who is representing herself as an expert in her field yet is wrong on so many of the most basic of contemporary practices. I can't decide if this person is so horribly misinformed in her professional field or so very willing to lie to get her own way. I truly don't know. Either is frightening considering her position of authority over finances.
