The Dingo fiber is done!!!!

Finally got enough Dingo fiber to blend with the moorit wool and the natural and dyed angora. I sent it off to and just got it back today!! Now it is time to dust off Polly, my wheel, and get a-spinnin'! :D

It is so soft, and so luscious, and there's so much of it! Enough for DS's sweater and then some!

Mystery baby

I thought one of Carmie's babies was a REW. Now I think it is a Lilac Sable Point. The baby was born white, and now is developing color on its points almost like a Lilac Pointed White, but it also has some color, although faint, on its flanks. Its eyes are dark. I knew Carmie might carry the chd (chin dark) gene, and I think this eliminated the red from the baby's coat, and the non-extension gene further cleaned it up. Neither Carmie nor Vinnie carry the himi gene. This is what I think her genetic makeup is:

a? bb cchd dd ee w?

The thing is, sable points are usually chl (chin light), not chd (chin dark).

Here are some pics:

I have always enjoyed fishing. But you know, sometimes, no matter how innocently you approach the fish, and no matter how tempting you make the bait, the fish just don't bite. You know why? Because there is no reason for them to.

This is a difficult concept for some people to comprehend. People who have ulterior motives for their baiting find it difficult to believe that the fish do not share that motive.

I think this says it all

The Gospel According to Matthew, Chapter 7

1"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."

New Cages

So here is the first of 2 sets of cages I ordered from a friend in Ohio. It is a shelter in which 2 all wire cages are suspended. The roof is removable, it has a black vinyl cover hung around the sides and back of the cages, and a clear vinyl cover in front. I flip the front cover up to feed and water. Both covers are removable. The shelter holds (2) cages, each 48" wide X 24 " deep X 18" high. I added a 12" wide X 18" deep X 9" high bottomless hiding box for the bunnies, and hung hay feeders on the outside of each cage, but under the tarps.

I am so happy to have these new cages! I have learned the hard way that white bunnies and wooden/wire hutches do not mix. I can take these cages out and power wash or torch them clean. No more dirty feet! :D

A touch of sanity in the midst of madness

No matter how utterly ridiculous some people are, no matter what stupid lengths people will go to in order to "get even", there is always a bright spot in any bunny breeder's life - BABIES!!!

Carmie gave birth to 4 babies last night. One, a lilac, was born dead, the others are a chocolate tan, a self chocolate, and a REW. When I looked in on them tonight, they were fat, warm, and happy. Carmie is a nervous wreck, LOL, but a good Mom.

Hopefully the tan will be a buck.

... to those who don't care to read the club BS. Sometimes my buttons get pushed the wrong way. This whole argument has actually been going on for a long time, and on several different levels, and I just get fed up with finger-pointing. So I am going to let the facts speak for themselves, and drop this issue. Thanks for your patience!

Persnickety's breeding did not take, so she went back in with the buck. This morning she had pulled wool like crazy - maybe it took this time? Never seen a doe react to being bred by pulling wool the next morning. :X I moved Carmie indoors, in the nursery cage. She's not happy about it, but with the unpredictability of the weather lately, I felt it was best.

I have my first set of new outdoor cages, I'll try to get pictures taken and posted this weekend. I really like them, they are solid and versatile.

So here it is:

I received this email today:

Please take note of the dates on the posts from you and your printer! I could post all of my personal emails on the NARBC list or you use them on you blog, if you like. This way members can make up there own mind about who's at fault with regarding the lateness of the Newsletter. I have treated you professionaly and with respect......... You have the audacity to post lies about me on your blog.
Shame on you Janet!!
PS. I have more personal e-mails to forward to you for your reading pleasure.

So here is my response, SHARON.

I know your loyal friends read my blog, I have to wonder what they will think, after having read the emails. Being the fair-minded people I believe them to be, I think you're going to have some 'splainin' to do...

Please be patient, the document takes time to load:

*The document has been deleted, it served its purpose, but it has been brought to my attention that it could cause grief to innocent parties. (Of which Sharon is not one)*

I eagerly await your response, Sharon, and I invite you to respond here.

Muppet test

This is scary for me, on a couple of different levels.

You Are Scooter

Brainy and knowledgable, you are the perfect sidekick.
You're always willing to lend a helping hand.
In any big event or party, you're the one who keeps things going.
"15 seconds to showtime!"

One of my best friends is called Scooter, and he resembles the Muppet - but this is my personality test result, and it is pretty accurate...

Could I be Scooter's twin? AAACCCKKKK!!!!!!!
